Cancellation policy
What you're buying: Tales From a Far Distant Land mails one original fairy tale, printed as a small booklet, each month. The first tale ships in the first week of January 2027, and a new tale ships in the first week of each month after that. Orders placed by December 25, 2026 begin with the January tale. Any order placed after the 25th of a month, December included, rolls over to the next month’s tale, so an order on December 26 begins with the February tale.
Founding Year packages (sold November 2 to 30, 2026): A Founding Year is a single payment for twelve tales, mailed monthly from January through December 2027. It does not renew, you will not be charged again, and it can't be refunded once the first tale has been mailed.
Subscriptions (available from December 1, 2026): Subscriptions come in 3, 6 and 12-month terms. You pay for the whole term at checkout. At the end of each term, your subscription renews automatically for the same length of term, and the payment method you used is charged for the next term. Subscriptions continue until you cancel.
Renewal price: Renewals are charged at the price you signed up at. If that price ever changes, we will email you at least 30 days before your next renewal, and you can cancel before the new price takes effect.
Renewal reminders: For 12-month terms, we will email you a reminder 15 to 45 days before your renewal date. Your renewal date is always shown in your account.
How to cancel: You can cancel at any time, online, with no fees:
- Log in to your account at talesfromafardistantland.com.
- Open Subscriptions.
- Choose Cancel subscription.
You can also email support@talesfromafardistantland.com and we will cancel it for you. Cancel before your renewal date to avoid being charged for the next term.
What happens when you cancel: Cancelling stops all future renewals. Tales you have already paid for will still be mailed through the end of your current term, or you can ask us to refund any paid tales that haven't been mailed yet. See our Refund policy.
Gift subscriptions: A subscription bought as a gift renews on the purchaser's payment method, like any subscription. To give a set number of tales, the purchaser can cancel any time before the renewal date; the tales already paid for will still arrive. Founding Year gifts never renew.
Changes to your subscription: To change your mailing address, update it in your account or email us at least one week before the next mailing. To switch editions or term length, email us and we will help.
